Simon Thibault is a full professor and director of the Department of Physics, Physical Engineering and Optics at Université Laval. His research activities focus on the development of advanced optical systems for various applications, from cell phone cameras to the James Webb Space Telescope. As a Fellow member of the two largest scientific societies in photonic optics, he has organized several workshops and conferences in Québec City over the past 15 years, including the 6th edition of the Adaptive Optics for Extremely Large Telescopes Conference (AO4ELT6) in 2019. From June 4 to 8, 2023, he will be chairing the prestigious International Optical Design Conference (IODC 2023) at the Québec City Convention Centre. Mr. Thibault is co-organizing this event with the ambassador Anne-Sophie Poulin-Girard.
