Laurent Bouyer is a neurophysiologist and a regular researcher at the Centre interdisciplinaire de recherche en adaptation et intégration sociale (CIRRIS). He seeks to better understand the control of human movement as well as the ability to learn and rehabilitate following an injury to the nervous or musculoskeletal system. He is also interested in the development of new tools for rehabilitation (robotics and data processing software).

In 2022, Mr. Bouyer will be responsible, along with his colleague Jean-Sébastien Roy, of organizing the International Society of Electrophysiology and Kinesiology (ISEK) Biennial Congress, which will take place at the Québec City Convention Centre. This forum will bring together some 500 clinicians and scientists linked by a common desire to study the control of human movement and the neuromuscular system.
