Thierry Rodon is an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at Université Laval and holder of the Research Chair on Sustainable Development in the North. He is interested in indigenous policies and heads the MinErAL Research Network, an international network funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. This network is interested in the relationships between mining companies and indigenous communities in Canada, Scandinavia, Australia and New Caledonia. He was a member of the organizing committee of the international Inuit Studies Conference in 2014, and of three of the Interuniversity Center for Aboriginal Studies and Research (CIÉRA) conferences, namely 2014, 2015 and 2018, of which the latter was held at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in Hull, Quebec.
In November 2021, he will organize the International Mining the Connections Conference, which will bring together 350 participants at Université Laval.
