A mechanical engineer with an MBA and a PhD in engineering mathematics, Sophie D’Amours has built a career distinguished by major contributions to research, particularly in the forestry sector.
Beyond her academic achievements, she is an influential leader, actively engaged in addressing major societal challenges, notably as Chair of the Conseil de l’innovation du Québec and Co-Chair of the Québec Capitale Climat initiative. Her impact extends well beyond our borders, as evidenced by the many honours she has received both in Canada and internationally.
Through her vision and her ability to bring stakeholders together, Sophie D’Amours becomes the very first recipient of the Honorary Ambassador title, confirming her role as a natural ambassador for Québec City. This award recognizes an individual whose sustained commitment, leadership, and influence have made a significant contribution to promoting Québec City as a premier business tourism destination, both locally and internationally.
