Jean-Pierre Tremblay is a full professor in the Department of Biology at Université Laval and a regular researcher in two strategic centres, namely the Centre for Nordic Studies and Centre for Forest Studies. Tremblay directs a research program at the interface of animal ecology, forest ecology and wildlife management. With his students, colleagues and partners, he seeks to discover how the interactions between deer, plants and parasites influence their abundance and their respective distribution.
Mr. Tremblay has co-organized, along with his colleague Martin-Hugues St-Laurent, of the 18e North American Caribou Workshop, which was virtual in May 2021. It is a central event for the sharing of indigenous traditional knowledge, scientific results and acquired experience, reports on the status of the caribou and exchanges relating to challenges of conservation, management and recovery of the species.
