Nancy Gélinas is the first woman in Université Laval’s history to serve as Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Geography and Geomatics. She is also a professor and researcher in forest economics.

She was fully educated at Université Laval, having obtained degrees from three faculties, and has followed a multidisciplinary path culminating in a Doctorate in Forest Sciences, with a specialization in political economy. Her research projects focus on social, economic and governance aspects, in which players from multiple-resources participate.

Gélinas and her colleague Alain Olivier from the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences are co-organizing the 5th World Congress on Agroforestry (WCA5) to be held from July 17 to 20, 2022 at the Québec City Convention Centre, a first in Canada! More than 1,000 agroforestry experts and farmers from around the world are expected in the capital.
